Day 9 Assignment : For today’s assignment, write a scene at the park. Up for a twist? Write the scene from three different points of view
A man and a woman walk through the park together, holding hands. They pass an old woman sitting on a bench. The old woman is knitting a small, red sweater. The man begins to cry. Write this scene. Today’s twist: write the scene from three different points of view: from the perspective of the man, then the woman, and finally the old woman.
It’s been a beautiful Sunday at Vile’s Family Park. Birds chirping, wind’s breezing and sun doesn’t strike too bad. It has been a perfect morning for family picnic. There can be seen several families gathering around, some couples jogging together, and an old woman sitting leisurely on the park bench.
The couples seems enjoying themselves, chatting and sharing jokes while jogging. It’s like they are in their own world. The man, named James told his girlfriend, Lyn how beautiful this park is. James is a employee in one of the telecommunication in Jakarta so he’s has been so busy and never had a chance to admire how beautiful this park is. Being able to spend a little time with his girlfriend has been a great moment for him. He can temporarily forget his work and only think about his girlfriend. On the other hand, Lyn, an online shopping owner, can spend her time with his boyfriend. Meeting him in weekdays has never been easy. James is so immersed with his work that he doesn’t have time for his girlfriend. Lyn has prepared many things to indulge her boyfriend. She packed some food for him, trying to make him feel relaxed in this day off. Both of them are really making use of this Sunday Morning.
In one side of the park, there can be seen an old woman sitting leisurely while enjoying her surrounding. She’s sitting comfortably while observing how beautiful the park is. She’s looks like she’s enjoying every moment in the park like saying that she’s feeling so grateful being able to live and feel this moment.
Vile’s Family Park was really packed in that morning. So much great moments were shared that morning. Sometimes you must leave the usual daily activities and start enjoying your time with other people. We are not the slave of technology, we are not the slave of life, we are the master of them. So, we must not prioritize them above our relationship with others. We may make us of the technology but technology can never make use of us. Cheers!
